Bottle Babies

Remember those bottle calves I told you about last time?
Well.... we still have them! They actually take up a lot more time than you would think.
When we first got them I was thinking oh this won't be that bad, we just have to feed once in the morning and once in the evening.  YEAH RIGHT!!
Seems like that's all we've been doing lately.
Feeding...

And feeding...
Oh yeah, and feeding some more!
When we are not feeding we are doctoring pink eye, or a hurt leg, or cleaning out stalls,

Or torchering... not really I'm sure this has it's benefits but the mother in me cringes everytime we have to do anything, especially to the babies...

I know this one looks calm now but SHE'S NOT!!!
She's CRAZY!!  Oh and that's my Dad by the way.

And this is where I run and jump on top of the nearest truck!! Here lately when we have not been busy with the cows we have been at the ball fields!

You guessed it he's number 33 again four years in a row now.

This is the first year he has pitched though, but I think he likes it and he's doing really good!

New babies

Morning around our house now means three more mouths to feed...

Now I know they look like calves,  but let me tell you when they are hungry they act like sharks!!

They are vicious!
They head butt, kick, bite, slime you with their milk mustache, and if your not doing it right they'll go into the death roll!!!
Ok, maybe not that last one but they know how to get their point across!

I have bottle fed a lot of creatures but today was a first for me. I had never fed a calf.

Ironman on the other hand... Well... He's just a natural at everything!

After breakfast it was time to build a calf pen for our three stooges to play in.

Gracie thought she would give her daddy a much needed hand!

She's making sure that cattle panel don't decide to run off!

Like I said... he's a natural!  That and the fact I think he has done this a time or two before.
Almost done!!   Just a few more whacks!!

Gracie still doing a great job holdin' that panel down!

Finally,  It's time to let the cows out!
They loved it... this one in the front is Gracie's her name in Charlotte, the one behind her is Tboy's he calls him Ribeye!  They came out of the barn running, kicking and bucking it was so cute!
After all the milk and exercise they were ready for nap time!
Our little Gracie just can't resist, she's on the ground and fair game!
And to show her apperciation Charlotte decided to bite Gracie's knee!  See I told you... SHARKS!!

It was still a very sweet moment to see them together. Especially when she laid her little head down on the grass and Gracie just rubbed her head. So sweet.

I thought this was another sweet moment too until...

He started PEEING everywhere!!  Ugh!!  He ruined a beautiful picture!!

Like all babies though I think they are really cute,  ask me in a few more weeks when they are bigger and head-butting me and I might not think so.
But for now I'm thinking they are not so bad!
lots of love,

Farming

WARNING!!!
What you are about to read could come as a shock to you unless, you know Gracie then you'll know this was totally innocent...

The kids are wanting to get some goats, so when we were talking to them about being goat farmers we asked them what would you name your goat farm?  Well... I should have known that Gracie would come up with something unforgettable! She said, "I would call it HORNY MORNING GOATS!"
Her daddy and I just looked at each other speechless, then couldn't help but crack up laughing!
She said " because they have those horns on the top of their head and you'll have to go out every morning and take care of them!"
So to her it sounded perfectly logical to name a goat farm HORNY MORNING GOATS.
I on the other hand do NOT think I would want to have that logo printed up!

Oh, and NO farm would be complete with out the little Mexican!
Even if it come in the form of a Mexican dog.

And speaking of farming...

We have growth! You just have to look really hard in this one but it's CORN!
We'll see if we can keep it growing!
Now I've gotta get lunch cooking I have about 45 minutes til they all arrive!
Lots of love,
the Davis's

Growing pains

Today we had pitching practice for Tboy and while I was sitting there watching him I couldn't help but think about how fast they are growing up.  This is his first year of kid pitch I don't know whether I should be excited about that or sad that he's not still in coach pitch!

Seems like just yesterday he was just starting out, and didn't know what to do with the ball when it came to him.

They are all growing and changing right before my eyes, I can't keep up!

They get stronger everyday!

And more beautiful!!

They are quite a team!
I can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring. As much as it pains me to see them grow so fast, I can't wait to see the men and women they will grow to be!
I love you!

Spring cleaning

We survived yard sale day!!
Just a little minor wind damage!!
More wind damage!! I had layers of clothes on and still froze!
Not really sure what she is doing here I guess maybe she was trying to stay warm too.
Here's Tboy and Jbug waiting to collect some money.

A few hundred dollars later and a couple of deliveries and my garage was completely empty!! YEA!!!

Since it was a neighbor hood sale Gracie had to go shopping and you know she can't come home empty handed so...
among other things Izzy got a new ride!!!
